DANIELLE DE BARBARAC from Ever After - work dress, OOAK doll

Popis Three part dress for a 12" doll.

  • Dress has the high waistline, narrow shoulder straps and skirt falls only to the ankles. It fastens back with hooks and eyes. There are leaden beads sewn to the inner hem of the skirt to add weight in order to skirt hang down properly.

  • Separate bodice is one-part (the shoulder seams don't exist). It fastens in the front with 2 loops of the black rubber thread. On the one side of the bodice are sewn on the loops, on the other side are 4 tiny wire hooks, so after attaching each loop on the 2 hooks it looks like a ladder lacing. The bodice is lined and trimmed with 2 rows of black stem stitch and one row of gold buillon chain stitch.

  • Gauntlets have sides sewn together with a black rubber thread, so it looks like the lacing. The lower gauntlets are closed with tiny hook and eye at the wrist. The gauntlets are tied together and to the upper bodice with raw black thread.

  • Chemise is very full, with a drawstring scoop neck.

  • Apron is of rectangular shape and ties back.

Used materials
  • For the dress, bodice and gauntlets I used teal dyed bourette;
  • habotai of the same colour for the lining of the bodice, of the bodice of the dress and the gauntlets;
  • Multiple washed handkrief battiste for the chemise. The sewed chemise I dyed in the tea to make it look worn out." It looks really dirty :-)).
  • The apron is made from bourette.
