ARWEN
Angel dress

ooak Arwen angel dress for Barbie doll

Description One-pieced (originally two-pieced) OOAK dress for "belly button" Barbie. My Arwen was originally Amazing Nails Lea. I repainted her face, and her hair was partially rerooted and then permed.
It wasn't difficult to sew the dress , but the beading took me many hours...:-))

  • Overdress is very long, closed only until just below the center breast line; it has a low neckline, which is trimmed with wide, 3-D trim. The sleeves are set-in, wrapped and sewn from shoulder almost to elbow. The back center seam isn't sewn together from hips to the bottom. All dress's edges are hemmed with buttonhole stitch, every stitch contains one little clear bead.

  • White underdress is bell-shaped, as like as the inset sleeves. The neckline of the underdress (although was lower-cut than neckline of the overdress) always peeked out from somewhere, therefore I decided to attach both necklines together and then make the trim. Because of elasticity of both fabrics, there wasn't necessary to make any fastening - the dress pulls over head.

  • the neck trim consists of white tatted flowers and silver flowers embroidered with bullion. Both edges of the trin are beaded with little clear beads.

Used materials
  • For overdress I used a white and silver knitted fabric.

  • The underdress were made from white crinkled chiffon.
