Padme Amidala - OOAK Picnic dress for 12" Barbie doll

Description

Two-part outfit for "belly button" Barbie doll. An another maternity dress from Star Wars universe.

The dark blue-violet dress (it is really very dark, almost black, but my digital camera sees another colours, sigh) has the empire waist and the front princess seams, the fitting collar and the long, full, bell-shaped skirt. The skirt is box pleated on the sides and on the back (altogther 7 pleats). The sleeves are shorter than they should be - therefore .I was short of the material + I was stupid. The dress is entirely lined, it fastens back with with hooks and eyes. It was embellished with tiny jet black beads and Czech black fire beads on the neckline and around the waist.
The black lace shawl is of a bit unusual shape : a triangle grafted on a long rectangle; it is adorned with black sequins, various black beads and a black lace trim..

Used materials

For the dress I used a dark blue-violet viscose scarf (awfully fraying, grrr), the lining is from a black habotai.
The shawl was made from a black lace shawl - I was said it was a viscose (it wasn't - and it frayed almost as horribly as the fabric for the dress).

Pattern for the outfit is in "Pattern" section For the skirt use, please, the pattern piece from "Packing gown": add 3 cm to the top and use the piece three times.
